Customer questions and answers for Chef'sChoice Chef'sChoice Deli Slicer #610

Question

How well does this slice bread?

I am looking for a slicer to slice homemade bread, or unsliced bread bought at the bakery. For the latter, the bakery will slice the bread for me but they only have one thickness, and it is too thick for me. Do you think this slicer would be best for that task, or would you recommend a different product? I want a slicer that will allow me to vary the thickness from loaf to loaf, depending on the type of bread being sliced.

Thank you for your reply. In the intervening 3+ weeks since I posted the question, I found a Chef's Choice Deli Slicer #609 at a local retailer. The slicer has a serrated blade and I did use it to cut a loaf of dense rye bread with a 9 mm thickness setting. It worked perfectly.

Thanks for the question. You can use a deli slicer to cut bread, but it is recommended to use one fitted with a serrated blade. This particular slicer does not come with a serrated blade, but the model 615 comes with both a straight and serrated blade. I have included a link below to the 615 for your convenience. I hope this helps.

Question

Looking for a repair part for the 610 slicer.

It's the little disc and screw assembly to hold the blade on and make adjustments. It was lost.
