Yes, everything ordered from us has a 100% guarantee. All you have to do is call 800-338-3232 and ask the rep to do a "parts request" for just the lid. It could take 2-3 weeks to get it, but you will get it.

The potato canister will hold about 5 lbs of potatoes and the onion canister will hold about 3 lbs. It depends on the size of the vegetables- this is a general estimate.

Mice do love potatoes! I'm sorry you have that problem. Because this is a very smooth surface, I don't know how you would attach the screening...unless you had screening in the shape of the canister that you could literally set inside it. I just don't see how you could permanently plug or block the holes. Does anyone out there have thoughts on this-besides getting a cat or 2?

I know potatoes and onions should not normally be stored near each other or in the same cabinet. With these canisters can they be together?

Would it be preferable to put them in different locations?

It is difficult to say exactly because it depends on the size of the various vegetables you choose to put in the different canisters. I spoke with someone who has these and he said you can probably get about 6 giant potatoes or a 5 pound bag of small potatoes in. The same goes for the onion and garlic.
I'm sorry. I wish I could be more precise.
But, just a reminder, we have a no time limit, 100% guarantee that says if you are not 100% happy with the product, we will take it back, cover the cost of return shipping and ask no questions besides asking for the order number on which it was purchased to process a refund!
